Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) govern all events, including hackathons, workshops, and competitions (collectively referred to as “Events”), organized by Syntax Sprint (“Organizer”). By registering for any Event on the Syntax Sprint platform, participants (“Participants”) agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
Event Mechanism
- Registration:
- Participants must submit their registration via the official website syntaxsprint.in.
- The Organizer is not responsible for:
i. Late, lost, incomplete, or misdirected entries or communications, whether by email or otherwise.
ii. Unauthorized access, theft, or technical errors affecting submissions.
iii. Failure of electronic systems, hardware, software, or network connections.
- Team Formation:
- Teams must consist of a minimum of 1 members and a maximum of 5 members.
- Each individual can only register in one team.
- Team leaders are responsible for submitting team details during registration.
- Participation Requirements:
- All team members must actively participate in the Event, including checkpoints and sessions conducted online or onsite.
- Failure to attend key activities or adhere to guidelines may result in disqualification.
- Demonstration and Presentation:
- Teams must deliver a 5-minute presentation, including a minimum 30-second demo of their project or prototype, followed by a Q&A session with judges.
Prizes
- Exciting prizes will be announced on the Event webpage.
- The Organizer reserves the right to modify the prize structure without prior notice.
- Participation certifications are provided by our team after a period of time on their registered mail address.
Judging Criteria
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:
- Impact: The potential benefits to the target audience.
- Creativity: Innovative and original ideas.
- Design: Usability, UI/UX, and technical design.
- Execution: Feasibility and effectiveness of the project timeline.
The Organizer reserves the right to make the final decision regarding judging criteria and outcomes.
Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to:
- Maintain professionalism and respect for all attendees, regardless of gender, age, race, or other personal attributes.
- Avoid harassment, offensive language, or inappropriate behavior.
- Adhere to guidelines provided by the Organizer during the Event.
Examples of unacceptable behavior include but are not limited to:
- Intimidation or harassment (verbal or physical).
- Offensive images, language, or gestures.
- Inappropriate photography or recording.
The Organizer may disqualify or expel Participants for non-compliance with these rules.
Intellectual Property Rights
- All projects, prototypes, and materials created during the Event remain the property of the Participants.
- Participants grant the Organizer the first right of refusal for acquiring exclusive rights to any intellectual property created during the Event for a period of 6 months post-event.
- By submitting an entry, Participants allow the Organizer to use their submissions for marketing, promotion, and display purposes worldwide for up to 10 years without additional compensation.
Media Authorization
By participating, Participants agree to the use of their images, voice, and video recordings for promotional purposes by the Organizer on various media platforms, valid for 10 years worldwide.
General Eligibility
- Participants must be 15 years or older. For those below 15, consent from a parent/guardian is required.
- The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries that:
- Violate third-party rights, laws, or regulations.
- Contain offensive or inappropriate content.
Amendments
The Organizer reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions, event dates, prizes, or other details at any time without prior notification. Changes will be communicated via the official website and email.
Data Protection
All data collected during registration and participation will be handled as per the IT Act 2008 and other relevant regulations.
